Field Experience: Bel Air High School March - May 2023 College Internship in Secondary Education
Visual Art / Ninth - Twelfth / Advanced Level Bel Air High School is located in Bel Air, Maryland within the Harford County Public School System. This PowerPoint presentation features everything my ninth through twelfth grade artists produced during my eight-week internship experience with them. I had to pleasure of teaching a variety of courses, including, Fine Art Prep, Drawing & Painting, and Advanced Drawing. It is clear that Secondary Education is where I want to be!

Field Experience: Color & Line Unit September - October 2022 College Field Experience in Elementary
Visual Art Class / Color and Line Unit / Standard Level During my elementary field experience, a co-teacher and I taught a four-day unit to kindergarten students on howto mix primary and secondary colors while simultaneously exploring a variety of new art making materials. Encouraging our students to experiment with color while also re-incorporating their prior knowledge of line ultimately fulfilled our overarching unit theme of line and color exploration.
Service-Learning Project: Op Art Drawing Workshop 5/5/22 College Media and Techniques for Secondary Art Teachers
Visual Art Class / New Song Workshop / Standard Level The Art Education program at Towson University has had a long-standing partnership with the students of New Song Academy. New Song Academy is a Baltimore City school that houses both elementary and middle school students. On May 5th, the Art Education program invited 8th graders from New Song to participate in a two-hour workshop taught by myself and other pre-service teachers. During my Op Art Workshop, students experimented with parallel lines and geometric shapes in order to create their own optical illusion drawing!
Service-Learning Project: Exploration of Organic Printmaking 4/22/22 College Media & Techniques for Elementary Art Teachers
Visual Art Class / Earth Day Workshop / Standard Level The Art Education program at Towson University hosted 2nd and 3rd grade students from New Song Academy to celebrate Earth Day at the Glen Arboretum. The Glen Arboretum is a treasured campus and community resource often used for plant-based scientific research. For my particular workshop, 2nd and 3rd grade students explored relief printmaking processes using organic materials while simultaneously identifying and classifying trees indigenous to Maryland. At the end of the workshop, each student left with a personalized keychain and a newfound appreciation for Earth Day!
